Share your memories of rowing at the College
We’d like to hear your memories of rowing at Imperial College
Back in 1919, Charles Bristow founded the Imperial College Boat Club; this was just the start of a long and illustrious history with the sport.
Ninety years on, some of the world’s most successful rowers are associated with Imperial College, a great testament to the strength of the club. Louis Attrill (Civil Engineering 1997), Simon Dennis (Biology 1997) and Luka Grubor (Computing 1996) all rowed their way to gold medals in the Sydney Olympics in 2000, coached by another alumnus Martin McElroy (Management School 1993). Among their crew of eight was Steve Trapmore, now Head of Rowing at the College.
Imperial’s Boat Club has played an important role in life of scores of Imperial College alumni, and we’d like to hear your memories to share on the alumni website.
Email the Alumni Relations team at alumni@imperial.ac.uk with your memories. Please include your full name, and if you have it to hand, your alumni membership number in your email.
