Reunion: Class of 1957-60 Chemical Engineering

Class of 1960

A group from the class of Chemical Engineering 1957-60 gathered together for the first time since summer 1960.

The idea for the reunion arose from a smaller group - Alan Nethercott, Malcolm Cross and myself, who, having met each other separately and very sporadically during the intervening years, decided to get together in the autumn of 2001. We convened at the New Cavendish Club near Marble Arch and, under the influence of a beer or three, decided that it would be interesting to try and get a larger group from our years together.

On Wednesday 6 February 2002, a group from the class of Chemical Engineering 1957-60 gathered together for the first time since summer 1960, again at the Cavendish Club. This worked out well with a relaxed approach and no problems re-arranging the bar furniture to secure us a corner of the room. I think everyone thought it worthwhile and the suggestion is to make it an annual event - possibly with a buffet lunch in a separate room next time. The barman, Marco, did the honours with my camera.

Those who were unable to make the first gathering or who we failed to contact would, of course, be welcome to join the next - please e-mail tonydsandb@aol.com, alannethercott@hotmail.com and/or mcross@freeuk.com.
