CPB research associate Joaquin Hortal has been recently
interviewed for a short piece in Nature news about the reliability of
species distribution models, a group of tools that are widely used in
biogeography, climate change and conservation biology. Although these
tools are becoming an standard, they present some flaws that prevent
their blind use an a methodological standard without rigurous quality
assessments on the data and results.
