Runaway bride

Bride and groom outside of the Imperial College Union building

Chemical Engineering alumni Anthony Wong and Rebecca Lam returned to campus in August for a special photo opportunity in honour of their forthcoming nuptials

Anthony Wong and Rebecca Lam (both Chemical Engineering and Chemical Technology 2004) caused quite a stir when they returned to the South Kensington Campus in August; particularly Rebecca who was wearing a beautiful beaded wedding dress. The couple, who were accompanied by a professional photographer and make-up artist, revisited the place their romance blossomed for some pre wedding photographs.

Rebecca and Anthony met at their course admission interviews, and got together a few months later during the first year of their course.

The couple were spotted at a variety of locations around campus from Chemical Engineering Lecture Theatre 1 to the Beit Quad. The couple even featured on Imperial College London’s twitter page (www.twitter.com/imperialcollege) as mystified staff and students tried to identify the happy couple.

For those traditionalists out there who might be worried that the groom has seen the bride in her dress before their special day, there’s no need to worry, because Rebecca has a different, equally stunning, dress for the ceremony which will be taking place in Hong Kong in January 2010.
