CFA Investment Research Challenge

This is an invitation to form teams and make a bid to represent Imperial College at the CFA investment research competition.

About the Challenge

The CFA Institute Global Investment Research Challenge is an annual competition held by CFA societies around the world. As a partner program, students on the MSc Finance are invited to participate in the challenge. The competition requires participating teams to research, analyse, and report on a specific company as if they are practicing analysts, along with the help of an assigned mentor from the industry.  The team’s final presentations are locally evaluated by high-profile panels of heads of research, portfolio managers, and chief investment officers from the world’s top firms. The winners of the UK final will go on to compete in the European final in Istanbul, the winner of which will enter the global challenge in Hong Kong.

This is a unique and exciting opportunity. Students will have the chance to interact with investment professionals and top firms while getting real-world experience in equity analysis, sell-side research report writing, and presentation skills. Just to be chosen to participate is an accomplishment that will enhance a student's resume.

How to Enter

We will select a team of 3-5 students by holding a small competition among our MSc Finance students in order to choose a team we feel would best represent the school.

If you are interested in entering your team for the Research Challenge, you must form a group of 3-5 individuals from your programme. You will then be asked to give a 5-10 minute presentation, with slides (maximum of 5 slides), outlining your research and analysis strategy of the subject company, Quintain Estates (http://www.quintain-estates.com). The team will be selected based on the presentation.
