WHO meeting to discuss schistosomiasis treatment programmes contribution to HIV control

A Working Group convened by the World Health Organization (WHO) on 1-2 October 2009 to assess the likelihood that schistosomiasis treatment programmes could contribute to HIV control by preventing chronic inflammation and damage to the genital epithelium which may increase susceptibility to HIV.
