The Imperial College Association celebrated it's 25 year Anniversary with a grand gala dinner at the Regent Hotel on the 19 August 2003.

The Guest of Honour was Imperial College alumnus, the Minister for Defense Rear Admiral Teo Chee Hean, who is also the Patron of the Association. Other alumni present included Chairman of Singapore Exchange Mr. J. Y. Pillay, who is Advisor to the Association; and Chairman of World Scientific Publishing Company Prof. K. K. Phua, who is the founding president of the Association.

Over a hundred members and friends of the Association came to the gala dinner. There were also representatives from the Imperial College alumni associations of Hong Kong and Malaysia.

Many generations of Imperial alumni were present, starting from the 1960s through to the 2000s, including a handful of current undergraduate students, and there was the usual opportunity for reunions with old schoolmates.

The guests were treated to a slide show at the start of the dinner displaying a selection of photographs from the 25 years of activities of the Association. After the slide show, a special congratulatory video message from Pro Rector Dr. Tidu Maini was shown.

In conjunction with the 25 year anniversary celebrations, the Association established the Distinguished Service Award to be given annually to an individual who had made sustained and outstanding service to the Association. The inaugural award went to Prof. K. K. Phua, the founding president of the Association, which was presented by Minister Teo Chee Hean.
