The Earth Institute, which is a branch of Columbia University, was chosen by SCI to co-implement the project in Rwanda, in the absence of the adequate human and financial resources within the Ministry of Health.

The first phase of the project was dedicated to creating the required team of skilled personnel to run the project within the Earth Institute. This team is led by Dr Denise Mupfasoni, National NTD Project Coordinator under the supervision of Dr Blaise Karibushi, NTD and Access Projects Country director for the Earth Institute.

SCI provides the NTD project in Rwanda with both technical and financial guidance.
