Expand your horizons, invest in your future

"Raleigh allows you to step back from normal life and helps you to learn more about yourself, reflect on your past and think about what you want to do in the future." Ivan Chiu Ka Ho, Costa Rica & Nicaragua.

The Raleigh Graduate Bursary Award for Volunteering Overseas is an initiative aimed at recent graduates and final year students who are looking to develop key employability skills, explore new cultures and make a real difference to the world they live in. Raleigh is able to offer you the opportunity to join a 10 week expedition where you'll work on much needed community and environmental projects plus undertake a challenging adventure phase.

Raleigh still has 300 bursary awards available, each one worth £2000
• Available for expeditions to Borneo, Costa Rica & Nicaragua or India
• Departing in July 2010, October 2010 and January/February 2011
• You will be required to fundraise £1000 towards the expedition and also pay for your flights, vaccinations and kit

Expedition

Tim Eklund received the Raleigh Graduate Bursary Award and went on expedition to Borneo in Autumn 2009:

" Before Raleigh I was unemployed, newly graduated and refusing to go on benefits. For me, I'm much more flexible now than I was before and take things more as they come. I think Raleigh has given me the opportunity to demonstrate skills like leadership, communication and teamwork in different scenarios. If I were to be asked typical interview questions I could talk all day about the experiences on Raleigh.

I can't summarize and do my experience justice in a short sentence. The Raleigh experience is simply out of the ordinary, challenging, and a great opportunity for ventures and project managers alike."

Raleigh, a youth and education charity, is endorsed by leading employers and government departments, so you don't have to feel guilty about having the time of your life!
