Fundraising Success with Cakes, Tower and Raffle!
The Cardiac Development Group of NHLI raised a massive £1,000 for the British Heart Foundation (BHF) with a number of exciting events
On Friday 26th February, the Cardiac Development Group in NHLI joined many others across the country to help raise money for the British Heart Foundation (BHF) as part of their Red for Heart campaign. The events included a cake and cookie sale, tours of Queen's Tower, wear red to work and a raffle.
The range of cakes and cookies available was incredible, and all were home baked by kind volunteers. The award for fastest selling cake goes to Clodagh Li for her delicious chocolate cake! Despite the howling wind, many were able to enjoy the superb views from Queen's Tower, and demand was so high, we had to run tours for an extra hour! Finally, the raffle proved popular, thanks to some wonderful prizes; such as a £100 voucher for Awana restaurant, afternoon tea for 4 at Bakes Hotel and 10 grill pans kindly provided by Aga. Thanks must go to Caroline Walker who used her charm and persuasive skills to get us such great prizes.
The events raised a massive £1,000, and I would like to thank all those who generously gave up their time to help on the day. Next year (the 50th anniversary of the BHF) we go cross-campus!
