They tacked and sailed their way in the Solent to win the Steve ‘ Uppers' Upson yacht trophy for the ‘Best Newcomers Award'.
Steve Cussell remarked that " Well, we did not disgrace ourselves or Imperial either. To come away with the ‘Best newcomers Award' was a nice surprise at the end of the day". He also hoped that they all enjoyed it and that it was a fantastic team building exercise . He certainly enjoyed it and is looking forward to next year's regatta, without the pints the night before !
The Polypipe Regatta raised over £ 5000 for the Starlight and John Merrick Charities.
Thanks go to Stephen Maine for his boat and his seamanship, Jo Haigh for the
Team shirts and Neal Powell for printing the Imperial College banner.
