New Energia Gym now open at St Mary's

Director of Commercial Services, Jane Neary and Head of Sport, Neil Mosley joined Mike Griffin and Keith Loveridge from the Imperial NHS trust at St Mary’s Hospital on Wednesday to celebrate the official opening of the new Energia Gym, now under the management of Sport Imperial.

The gym, previously managed by the hospital has been redecorated and refurbished with updated equipment, including cardiovascular and resistance machines. One of the most exciting additions is the use of the St Mary’s swimming pool, which is now included in all gym memberships.

The refurbished fitness suite was already buzzing on Wednesday with staff members and patients enjoying the improvements to facilities, including Imperial Sports Services Manager Samantha Bell.  Sam, who has recently returned to work after the birth of baby Charlie is currently in her last week of training leading into the London Marathon. Sam is running the marathon in memory of a friend who passed away due to cardiac problems last year. Energia offers rehabilitation services to patients with similar problems.

“We are really excited by the addition of the new equipment, and we know that Imperial and NHS staff alike will feel at home here, and enjoy the improvements to the space. It is great to see so many patients being helped through their rehabilitation programmes and in such a positive environment in the new Energia gym” said Sam.
