CAREERS ADVISORY SERVICE: China & South East Asia Fairs 2012

China Fairs 2011

The China & South East Asia fairs are aimed at any native speaking student but particularly penultimate year, final year and graduate students. It is not necessary to be a native speaker for the Hong Kong fair

Please note that these fairs are held this year in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Beijing.  Do not book a place unless you can organise your travel to these venues.

Imperial College Careers Advisory Service is once again collaborating with LSE, Oxford and Cambridge  to provide careers fairs in China and Hong Kong.  Last year’s Fairs in Singapore, Hong Kong, Beijing and Shanghai proved very successful with several Imperial attendees obtaining placements and job offers as a result of the events.

The China & Hong Kong fairs are aimed at any native speaking student but particularly penultimate year, final year and graduate students.  Note it is not necessary to be a native speaker for the Hong Kong Fair.

This year the fairs will be in Beijing, Hong Kong and Shanghai

We expect the events to be even more successful than last year and hope to have 25+ companies at each venue. Some companies will attend more than one venue but this is often because they are recruiting for specific regions e.g. attending Shanghai for the Shanghai office and Beijing for the Beijing office.  Not all companies are attending every venue.

Why should you attend?

1. It is the best way to meet many recruiters from multinationals, financial, governmental and manufacturing organisations who have a strong presence in Hong Kong and China

2.At Shanghai and Beijing there will also be representatives from Chinese national companies.

3. You will greatly improve your chances of success by meeting employers face to face and obtaining information about recruitment and selection processes

4. Employers will receive your CV before the fair

5. Numbers of students attending are deliberately lower than at UK fairs - allowing you more chance for useful conversations with prospective employers.  We expect to have no more than 250 students at any venue
