From J.P.Morgan's Give-It-Away 2011 Spring Donation web page:
Congratulations! You voted for e.quinox, and they will receive our $50,000 Give-It-Away spring donation this year.
“ We are deeply honored and thankful to be awarded the spring donation of US$50,000 from J.P. Morgan’s Give-It-Away competition. It has been a difficult win, but this donation will go a long way in delivering renewable energy to rural communities in Rwanda, Tanzania and other developing countries. We believe the provision of electricity via cost-effective and financially sustainable means will empower rural communities to strive towards a better quality of life, education, healthcare and other positive knock-on effects. J.P. Morgan’s generous donation will allow e.quinox to not only electrify more communities, but to develop the blueprint for sustainable electrification that can be replicated throughout the developing world."
— Daniel Choudhury, Vice Chairman, Head of Information & Marketing, e.quinox
e.quinox will use our Give-It-Away contribution to implement numerous energy kiosks over the next few years. They will explore sources of energy beyond solar, in hydro-based energy kiosks and in further refining their business model to take a step closer to financial sustainability.
