Imperial alumni celebrate sixth year of Global Celebrations

Over 1,000 alumni came together over the summer to partake in Imperial’s 2026 Global Celebrations event series.

The Celebrations, running alongside the university’s Great Exhibition Road Festival in London, provide a chance for the Imperial community across the globe to share Imperial’s research successes. 

They also give Imperial alumni – everywhere from Amsterdam to Sao Paulo – a chance to make new connections, reunite with friends and peers, and build a network in their local area.

School of Convergence Science 

This year marked the first time Global Celebrations was connected to a theme – specifically, Imperial’s School of Convergence Science. 

Events could be connected to any of the School’s four mission-led areas: Health and Technology, Human and Artificial Intelligence, Sustainability, and Space, Security and Telecoms.

Alumni volunteers from across the world worked in partnership with Imperial’s Alumni Engagement team to create, co-ordinate and run the events. 

“I enjoy being involved in the alumni community because I loved my time at Imperial and it’s a great way to keep a connection to the university.
