About the programme
The AI Fundamentals for Civil Society is designed to support the UK's civil society sector to understand key AI concepts, the wider policy implications of AI, and what this all means for government.
Today, the UK Government faces a huge challenge in harnessing AI tools effectively, and in navigating the policy implications of wide-spread AI usage across the public and private sectors. To support this, we have built a successful capacity building programme for civil servants (AI Fundamentals), delivered by Imperial’s academics and specifically designed to address the challenges that government will continue to face.
As the policy debates around AI and its uses continue to evolve, we think it hugely important that the UK’s civil society sector also builds a deep understanding of these technologies and their impact. We will be delivering AI Fundamentals for Civil Society on 3 February 2026, designed specifically to support civil society actors - charities, think tanks, research academies.
Learn from world-class Imperial academics in this interactive training, providing a clear, accessible overview of key AI concepts while equipping participants with practical insights relevant to policy development and organisational decision-making.
During the day, participants will:
- Gain a practical understanding of key AI tools and their applications
- Examine the policy implications of rapidly developing AI technologies across sectors
- Reflections on government priorities and challenges
