About the Academy
Resource Geophysics Academy
Imperial College London and Sinopec launched the “Resource Geophysics Academy” at Imperial in June 2019. This represents a significant investment by Sinopec, expanding its collaboration with one of the world’s leading international universities.
The new Academy at Imperial will help Sinopec to meet strategic aims to supply energy to the people and industries of China and the world.
The Resource Geophysics Academy aims to undertake original research within the broadly defined area of geophysics and its applications in the resource industries. It will seek to attract the best research staff from the global community and offer a broad spectrum of research opportunities in geophysics.
The primary goal of this collaboration is to train PhD students in Resource Geophysics. The Academy will provide opportunities for well-qualified students to gain their PhD from the prestigious UK university in the technically oriented disciplines.
Beyond PhD studentships, the Academy also offers opportunities for collaborative research and training for Sinopec employees at Imperial.
