Robotics

Welcome to the Robotics Forum - a network of excellence at Imperial College London. The College has extensive robotics activity, forming one of the largest European networks.

The Robotics Forum involves 44 laboratories, 46 principal investigators, 100+ post-docs and research fellows and 200+ PhD and EngD students. Increasingly, robotics applications are being used to impact sectors all across society, ranging from manufacture and production, to healthcare, transport, energy and the environment. Our forum members have published over 2400 papers during their time at Imperial.

Our research covers various aspects of basic and applied robotics research including mechatronics systems design and control, autonomous systems and artificial intelligence, medical and rehabilitation robotics, computer vision, human and social robotics. All the laboratories affiliated with the Robotics Forum can be found below. Infographic showing the main research domains of the forum (Healthcare, Infrastructure, Domestic and Assistive), its capabilities (which range from aerial robotics to neurotechnology), and benefits (which include increased productivity and better surgical outcomes).
