How to choose the right device

When choosing a unit it is best to meet with the company’s sales representatives to show you what their units can do. These units are being upgraded and new options are available on a regular basis.

What you should consider

You should also consider how the user will carry/wear the device, ease of use, costs and specific environment that the unit will be used in, plus the actual needs of the lone worker. Refer to Lone Working Code of Practise (pdf) for more information: Safe Management of Lone Working

Purchasing and costs

Prices range between £10-16 for a monthly rental or to purchase it is £300+ (usually with annual recalibration costs). If you buy in bulk, this attracts a bigger discount. These companies are set up on ICIS for immediate purchase.

If you would like to contact the Safety Department about these devices, please email Matt Moderate (Health and Safety Technician).
