Post-doctoral Research Associate in Climate Physics
We are seeking to recruit a motivated Post-Doctoral Research Associate to work on cloud feedbacks. You will join the group of Dr Paulo Ceppi and will be based in the Space and Atmospheric Physics Group, Department of Physics. You will work within the Circulation, Cloud and Climate Sensitivity (CIRCULATES) research consortium, which focusses on the coupling between clouds, radiation, the large-scale circulation and surface and boundary layer processes. The project aims to advance our quantitative understanding of cloud feedbacks, which dominate the model uncertainty in climate sensitivity estimates. To achieve this new understanding, the project will make joint use of high-resolution modelling, global climate modelling, and satellite observations.

CIRCULATES is a NERC-funded UK consortium led by the University of Exeter, comprising another three universities, the Met Office, and two research centres. Imperial College London leads the project’s work package that focusses on developing improved observational constraints on cloud feedbacks, by refining our understanding of the relationships between clouds and their environment in models and observations.
