Family Leave Policies

Imperial recognises the demands of family life and is committed to supporting members of staff to obtain a good work life balance. With this in mind, our family leave guidance has been designed to support both staff and managers by guiding them through the procedures for the various family leave types, covering what needs to be considered and the steps that need to be completed. All family leave policies apply to staff irrespective of gender identity, sexual orientation, gender expression, biological sex or if you are transitioning.

Tax-Free Childcare

The Government’s Tax-Free Childcare scheme is available to all eligible College employees. Please see below for further details.

Following the introduction of Tax-Free Childcare, childcare voucher schemes have been closed to new entrants. Therefore, the College’s childcare vouchers scheme is now only available to those currently in the scheme, subject to their continuing eligibility.

Flexible Working

All staff at Imperial can request a flexible working arrangement. If you feel that you would benefit from flexible working you can either make an informal request to your line manager or apply formally under the flexible working policy.

Early Years Education

Imperial College Early Years Education Centre (EYEC) caters for up to 140 children of staff and students. Children aged from six months to five years are organised into three age groups and in the centre which is rated as outstanding by Ofsted.
