Personal tutors have a responsibility to signpost students towards appropriate sources of support where necessary. It is important to understand the issues and challenges that may be faced by students and how these can impact on their wellbeing and work-life balance. The Wellbeing for students webpage lists the support services available to students at Imperial.

Personal tutors are not expected to resolve issues students bring to them. Rather they should offer guidance within their expertise and signpost to support services as appropriate. Students can also speak to their departmental Student Wellbeing Adviser (SWA), who can provide dedicated wellbeing support for all students on a range of non-academic issues.

Wellbeing for personal tutors is also important. As members of staff at Imperial, there are a number of health and wellbeing services available to personal tutors.
