Hammersmith & Fulham Council is consulting with the local community on Imperial’s S73 and Reserved Matters Planning Applications.

 

Reserved Matters Planning Applications

In December, Imperial submitted a number of Reserved Matters Applications (RMAs) to Hammersmith & Fulham Council. These Reserved Matters Applications were for the new academic building, enabling works associated with the building and new public realm. Consultation has commenced on these applications and will finish on 4 February. Comments and feedback on these applications can be made on the Hammersmith & Fulham Council website.

 

Changes to the White City South Campus Masterplan (S73 planning application)

Hammersmith & Fulham Council are now reconsulting with the local community due to updates to some documents submitted as part of the application in September. This consultation is open until 12 February. Comments and feedback on Imperial’s proposed changes to the White City South Campus masterplan can be made on the Hammersmith & Fulham Council website.

 

Background on the White City South Campus masterplan

Imperial was granted outline planning permission from Hammersmith & Fulham Council for the southern half of the Campus in 2021 ref. 2018/00267/OUT), located south of the Westway (A40). 

Since then, Imperial has carefully considered the future needs of staff, students and businesses based across the whole White City Campus, as well as the needs of visitors and the local community. In response to this, Imperial wishes to update the South Campus masterplan to vary the outline consent.

 

Proposed changes include:

  • An update to our energy strategy – to deliver an all electric, low carbon energy network for the campus, which will support Imperial’s net zero commitments
  • Improvements to the servicing strategy – a reduction in car parking provision and removal of an underground servicing road, and further prioritisation of pedestrians
  • A change of use to establish a greater academic presence – enabling us to bring forward plans for a new academic building and offer more space and facilities for students
