Professor David Gann CBE, Vice President (Innovation) will introduce and lead an evening outlining some of the novel approaches to innovation currently taking place at Imperial.

Fresh from the Stanford Digital Cities Summit, Dr Ivan Stoianov, an Associate Professor (Senior Lecturer) in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, and the founder of Inflowmatix Ltd, a start-up from Imperial College London, will present some of his experimental and analytical research into urban water systems in smart cities.

Professor Gann will then lead a discussion with Dr Stoianov, and:

  • Director of Enterprise Simon Hepworth, who will outline how the new White City campus will enable collaborative discovery, nurture entrepreneurship and develop impact from knowledge
  • Director of Financial Strategy John Anderson, who will outline the moves he is taking to ensure Imperial’s continuing fiscal stability
  • Executive Officer to the Vice President (Innovation) and Fellow of the Data Science Institute, Dr Ling Ge, who will talk about the President’s Office work on building global alliance and new development in data science at the College

The event will be hosted at the headquarters of Inkling in downtown San Francisco. Inkling was co-founded by Rob Cromwell (Computing 2010), and helps companies improve performance by better connecting their audience with the knowledge they need.
