International Workshop in Turkey

Dr Malaga attended the International Workshop on Seismic Loss, Rehabilitation and Post-Earthquake Management in Istanbul where he presented the group's expertise on earthquake assessment and the latest research on motion-control technologies carried out at Imperial.  This was a meeting of British Council-sponsored Early Career Researchers and offered a great opportunity for UK and Turkish investigators to discuss matters relevant to the Turkish National Earthquake Strategy. During his visit to Istanbul, Christian also visited the TICEM laboratory facilities where, together with Dr Umut Almac from Istanbul Technical University, experimental research on Byzantine and Ottoman masonry wallets is being conducted.
