Throughout their degree, doctoral students can take advantage of a range of CfAE courses and resources designed to help them communicate their STEMM research effectively.
Courses for doctoral students
Research communication: academic writing
We offer early-stage courses for doctoral students which provide the foundations for accurate and appropriate written communication of STEMM research. We also offer courses at a higher level/later stage that hone your academic language and writing skills for publication and for the thesis.
Research communication: technical speaking
We offer technical speaking courses to support doctoral students both in the early stages of their research and in preparation for the thesis viva. In addition, we offer a 2nd-year course which eases students into confident and competent STEMM communication to a live audience.
