New doctoral students can access the AW2 self-study learning blocks and our 1:1 coaching meetings via the CfAE doctoral communication resources Blackboard.
Our learning blocks are available 24/7.
Our 1:1s are available during Imperial term time.
This is the follow-on course for first-year doctoral students who have completed Academic Writing 1. It further develops and improves the range and accuracy of the students’ writing by focusing on key features of STEMM writing at doctoral level (including text organisation, cohesion, sentence structure, grammatical accuracy and academic vocabulary). It is designed primarily to help students with the writing of their ESA, but will also be relevant for aspects of writing research papers and the thesis.
This online self-study course has no scheduled weekly live sessions; instead, students benefit from input and practice via our ‘learning blocks’ (mini modules), and from opportunities to discuss samples of their writing with a CfAE coach.
