Course overview

This class comprises a friendly group of people interested in practising their Italian by talking about issues of current affairs and topical events in the arts, sport and culture.

At these lunchtime sessions we will read and discuss articles, and interpret novels and song lyrics with a view to improving our fluency in Italian and grammar. The course is also designed to help improving confidence in speaking Italian, with the development of greater accuracy and fluency, and it gives us an opportunity to epand our vocabulary and understanding of idiomatic phrases in a variety of scenarios.

The main focus of this course is to improve speaking and listening skills, however we will also pay attention to reading and writing skills.

By the end of the course our aim is to have improved your grammatical knowledge and your ability to understand more complex and abstract reading in Italian.

Advice on the correct textbook to purchase will be given in the first class.
