This course has been designed to highlight the importance of knowing your audience and your purpose before designing a presentation. You will learn how to structure a presentation and communicate your message clearly using various tools and techniques.  You will also watch videos demonstrating how not to present and how to present correctly and provide constructive feedback.  Other topics on body language and how to respond to questions will also be covered.

This course is open to Research Degree Students, Postdocs & Research Fellows.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this course you will be able to:

  • Identify your audience, purpose and the use of various tools and techniques before presenting
  • Analyse the structure, slide design and content of your presentation
  • Evaluate the quality of presentations and provide feedback
  • Analyse the use of body language, and how to respond to questions
