The Black Doctoral Network (BDN) is a community of Black heritage PhD researchers at Imperial College dedicated to supporting one another throughout the doctoral journey and beyond. We aim to create a space where Black researchers can find community, share experiences, and access opportunities that empower them academically, professionally, and personally.
Our goals are to:
- Build a strong sense of community among Black researchers at Imperial and across partner institutions
- Organise and host events to showcase work and connect with students from other universities
- Develop meaningful connections between PhDs and industry to support professional development
- Create spaces for collaboration and knowledge-sharing across the academic pipeline, including with the College’s Black Postdoctoral Network
