Periods can be unpredictable, and no one should have to experience stress, discomfort or embarrassment due to a lack of essential care products. Our Emergency Period Care Initiative provides free sanitary towels, available in each toilet stall within our buildings in South Kensington and White City. These are placed discreetly in drawstring bags labelled ‘Emergency Period Care’, with spare clothing also available upon request.
Awareness is raised through toilet signage, the Department’s EDI webpages and a named point of contact. This effort ensures that essential period care is accessible, reducing stigma and fostering a more inclusive and supportive environment for all.
