PhD at the Design Psychology Lab

Enquiries to join the Lab are welcome from excellent PhD candidates who meet the Dyson School of Design Engineering entry level requirements. We welcome prospective PhD students who are interested in understanding how digital technologies shape human cognition, behaviour, and mental health. The Design Psychology Lab brings together perspectives from psychology, behavioural science, human–computer interaction, and digital health to study how the design of digital environments influences psychological processes and wellbeing. We are particularly interested in applicants with strong quantitative and experimental skills who are motivated to conduct interdisciplinary research on topics such as human–AI interaction, digital mental health, and the design of psychologically safer technologies. Students from backgrounds including psychology, behavioural science, data science, computer science, design, and related fields are encouraged to apply.
