Meet the team

The Disability Advisory Service is divided into three teams.  These are:

Disability Advisory Service Teams

Disability advisers

We provide confidential and impartial advice and support to students with a wide range of impairments/disabilities to enable you to participate fully in your studies. We can help identify any disability-related needs you may have and discuss the best way of meeting them. We help you obtain the relevant evidence if you don’t have it. We can refer you to and organise the appropriate support. Our aim is to promote autonomy by ensuring you can make fully informed decisions to access the right support if you need it. 

Operations team

Our team supports the work of the disability advisers and SpLD tutors and is key to underpinning the provision of an efficient and operational service. We are the first point of contact for students and parents/guardians. 

Specific learning difficulties tutors

Our team provides face to face screenings for specific learning difficulties (SpLDs). We then refer students with enough indicators for a full diagnostic assessment. We provide study skills support sessions for an hour each week (on a flexible fixed term basis). In addition, there are themed workshops for small groups of students, and we work closely with external inclusive technology trainers to provide an integrated in-house provision.
