Would you like to learn exercises that will reduce vocal strain, improve vocal range, variety, clarity and pronunciation and gain and hold the attention of an audience? Would you like to make a positive initial impact and keep control of difficult situations? In this individualised and confidential one-hour session you will determine the objectives and work on practical exercises, including techniques used by actors, to address your specific needs. 

Sessions are designed to be open for any practical area of voice & and presentation skills – If you would like to practice an upcoming presentation, conference speech, fellowship interview or meeting, please feel free to bring along material. 

This course is open to Research Degree Students, Postdocs & Research Fellows.

Goals

  • Discover how relaxation, breathing and vocal exercises can improve vocal range and clarity 
  • Practice techniques to improve vocal range, clarity and personal confidence
  • Develop a confident voice when speaking to groups and individuals

Your Voice Coach


William has been director of Talking Shop Training since 2022, after joining the team in 2017.  
 

With an undergraduate degree in Politics & International Relations at the University of Reading, and a Master’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from Nottingham Trent University, William designs and delivers workshops and 1-2-1s for academic staff, students, management & team leaders across the Higher Education Sector.
