All sessions take place from 09:30-16:30, White City Campus.

Applications will open in November.

Springboard is a personal development course for those who identify as women, in which participants are encouraged to look at all aspects of their lives.

Springboard gives participants time for reflection and supports them to overcome barriers, seize new opportunities and set new goals with a clear plan of action to achieve them.

Key topics include:

  • Understanding yourself
  • Confidence building
  • Networking and support
  • Work-life balance
  • Identifying your values
  • Setting realistic goals
  • Assertiveness
  • Celebrating achievements

As well as providing the opportunity to network with other women, you will have the chance to hear from inspiring women from across Imperial who will share personal stories, including challenges they have faced and approaches to overcoming these.  

Springboard comprises of four days over a four-month period with a workbook to be completed between sessions. This programme requires attendance at all four in person sessions

The Autumn Term iteration is aimed at Early Careers Researchers who identify as women. 

The Spring Term iteration is aimed at all Imperial staff who identify as women

Aims

Springboard aims to

  • Empower women to take control of their personal and professional development.

Objectives

By the end of the 4-day Springboard course you will have: 

  • Reflected on what is important to you, building your self-awareness
  • Reviewed your strengths and practised presenting your positive self.
  • Practiced communicating assertively and effectively
  • Identified strategies to overcome self-limiting beliefs, boost confidence and increase motivation
  • Identified how to improve your work/life balance
  • Set clear, practical and realistic steps to move forward
  • Gained insights and appreciation of different perspectives and experiences, whilst gaining support from other women.

Attendance

Attendance in person is required on all four days and an expectation to meet up with your coaching partner once between each of the 4 sessions.
