Year 12 Outreach Event
**This free event is aimed at pupils in Year 12. In order to reach more schools, there is a limit of 30 tickets per school (including both pupils & accompanying teachers) and tickets will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Schools are kindly asked to have only one staff member register the whole group. Please include all accompanying adults within the max. 30 tickets.**

This free event is aimed at students currently in Year 12 who have an interest in studying at Imperial. The day will kick off with a lecture showcasing one researcher’s STEM career journey and their biomedical engineering research into ‘Spinal Burst Fracture Repair’. This will be followed by a talk from our Recruitment team about the range of subjects on offer and what it is like to study at Imperial College. After lunch, there will be a talk from Imperial’s Widening Participation Manager Jane Marshall about how to write an excellent personal statement, covering what Admissions Tutors are looking for.
We are also hoping to offer a panel of current Imperial students to talk about their experiences and answer your questions (to be confirmed).
The programme for the day will be as follows (all sessions are mandatory):
10:30-11:30- Talk: ‘One Researcher’s STEM Journey’ (with Q&A) by Dr Corinne Hanlon
11:30-12:00- ‘Studying at Imperial’ talk by Imperial’s Recruitment Team
12:00-13:00- Lunch break
13:00- 14:00- ‘How to Write an Excellent Personal Statement’ talk by Jane Marshall
14:00- 14:45- (TBC) Imperial undergraduate student ambassador Q&A panel
