A user-orientated workshop for applications in cell biology, HCA and clinical diagnosis
This workshop is intended as a means to share our progress on an open source automated FLIM plate reader based on MicroManager and OMERO/FLIMfit. We will also be presenting progress on related projects to develop in vivo optical projection tomography (OPT) of live adult zebrafish for studies of cancer and inflammation and oblique plane microscopy (OPM) for rapid 3-D imaging, including of calcium sparks in cardiomyocytes. In addition to our presentations and lab tours, we will also have some exciting guest speakers talking about high throughput microscopy and novel assays in drug discovery.
As well as disseminating results from our ongoing research projects, the aim of this user-orientated workshop is also to seek feedback about future directions from current and potential research partners, particularly from industry, and to stimulate new collaborations to exploit our technology. To complement the presentations from the Photonics Group, we have invited external speakers from EMBL (Rainer Pepperkok, Robert Mahen) and AstraZeneca (Beverley Isherwood) to talk about their work at the forefront of high throughput fluorescence-based bioimaging and assays.
