The growing adoption of technology in healthcare has come with increasing vulnerability to cybersecurity threats, capable of compromising patient safety, patient data confidentiality and care budgets.

Evidence reveals that healthcare systems are still lagging behind other sectors in adapting to this challenge. Moreover, there is limited understanding of existing healthcare cybersecurity efforts on a global scale.

The challenges in guiding cybersecurity planning across high-income countries (HICs) and in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) are vast and varied. In this Institute of Global Health Innovation Forum, we will gather a range of expertise, experience and insight into the current challenges, needs and opportunities in cybersecurity in healthcare.

The Forum will explore recent cyber incidents in healthcare and the implications of such incidents to quality care, identifying potential ways forward based on the lessons learned.
