Covid-19

Imperial College Academic Health Science Centre (AHSC) is working at the forefront of research and patient care during the COVID-19 pandemic. In this online event, part of our series of AHSC COVID-19 seminars, two experts will talk about their research on detecting COVID-19 in the environment and how respiratory viruses like influenza spread and COVID-19 spread between people. The seminar will be live and open to all.

Speakers

Professor Frank Kelly holds the inaugural Humphrey Battcock Chair of Environment and Health, within the School of Public Health in a new global centre of air pollution
research. His research activity spans all aspects of air pollution research from toxicology through to science policy.

Professor Wendy Barclay is Head of Department of Infectious Disease at Imperial College London. Her expertise is in the field of respiratory viruses, now also SARs CoV2 the coronavirus that causes COVID-19. Her studies aim to understand how new pandemics arise and spread, and the impacts of mutations in the viruses on how we can control them.
