Sustainable Power Webinar Series

Future of energy: Inside GE’s energy transformation

Abstract

Addressing climate change is an urgent global priority, requiring global action, national commitments, and consistent policy and regulatory frameworks. Decarbonisation of the power sector and electrification of energy-use sectors (e.g., transportation, industry and heat) as quickly as possible will have the most substantial impact on global carbon emissions. Energy companies are making steps towards decarbonization of the power sector. GE as a company is uniquely positioned through its scale, breadth, and technological depth to play a key role in energy transformation to address climate change. Based on extensive analysis and experience, GE believes the accelerated and strategic deployment of renewables and gas power can change the near-term trajectory for climate change and make substantive reductions in emissions quickly. In this webinar, Ruslan Galimov and Jim Donohue will discuss how GE team is working to solve one of the world’s biggest challenges – to provide world’s biggest economies and its most remote communities with the electricity to power modern life and, at the same time, reduce greenhouse gases.
