Speakers

Professor Robert Shorten is Professor of Cyber-Physical Systems and Deputy Head of Department at the Dyson School of Engineering Design at Imperial College London. His research interests include Smart Mobility and Smart Cities, Control Theory and Dynamics, Hybrid Dynamical Systems, Networking, Linear Algebra; Sharing Economy, and DAG based distributed ledgers.

Dr Audrey de Nazelle is a Senior Lecturer and Co-Deputy Director of the Centre of Environmental Policy at Imperial College London. She leads the Network of Excellence in Air Quality (NExAir), bringing together researchers from across Imperial to tackle air pollution and improve air quality for all. Her research involves assessing behavioural, environmental and health impacts of urban plans and policies, including the environmental and social drivers that make people choose to walk and bike in cities.

George O’Connor is Managing Director, Ireland, for Enterprise Holdings and is the lead at Enterprise for a new urban mobility pilot project with Imperial College London and Brompton Bikes.

Justin Abbott is a member of the Better Streets for Kensington and Chelsea committee which campaigns for safer and healthier streets in the Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.

Panel chair:

Professor Mary Ryan is College Champion for Transition to Zero Pollution, Professor of Materials Science and Nanotechnology at Imperial, and Vice-Dean (Research) in the Faculty of Engineering at Imperial College London. Mary leads a large interdisciplinary group focused on understanding nanoscale materials, and nanoscale interfaces in and between materials and their environments. She has a particular interest in the development of operando approaches and has pioneered nanoscale methods in synchrotron science.
