At this inaugural event in the new ‘Great Minds’ series, President Gast will be in conversation with business leader and Imperial alumnus, Sir Sam Jonah (MSc Mineral Resources Engineering 1979).
Sir Sam is Executive Chairman of Jonah Capital, former president of AngloGold Ashanti, and elected member of the National Academy of Engineering.
From his achievements in the mining industry and the business world, to his active citizenship in the community, this event will be an opportunity to hear about Sir Sam’s varied career as one of Ghana’s leading businessmen and his memories from Imperial. Sir Sam will share his advice on being a successful leader and how his personal experiences led him to pursue a scholarship to study abroad.

Imperial has more than 200 alumni living in Ghana and over 250 Ghanaian alumni living around the world. In November 2019, Imperial hosted an alumni reception in Accra.
