This panel discussion featuring professionals in the finance sector will focus on career related advice for alumni based in, or would like to be based in, East and South East Asia. Alumni and students who are new to or interested in a career in banking & finance are welcome to attend to hear from and put their questions to the expert panel. 

Hosted by Xiaobei Wu (Bei), Careers Consultant (APAC region), a panel of four senior alumni working in finance in Singapore, Hong Kong and Malaysia will share their insights on the sector and take questions from alumni and students. The panellists will share what attracted them to the sector, the challenges and opportunities they’ve encountered, tips and suggestions on career progression and their thoughts on how the sector has changed or is currently changing. They will share their expert insights on what makes for a standout career in the sector and how to be a strong leader.

Xiaobei Wu

Xiaobei Wu (Bei) is an experienced bilingual Career Consultant. She looks after current students and recent alumni from Imperial College Business School with a specialism in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region. Based on her 15 years’ wide-ranging experience from school counselling, international recruitment, to university career service, Bei provides a wide range of award-winning career support to students and alumni across multiple programmes. She has a BSc in Psychology, an MSc in Management of Training and Development from The University of Edinburgh and is trained by The University of Warwick as a qualified Career Consultant. As an ex-international student herself, Bei has a deep understanding of APAC students’ hopes and concerns and is always passionate in supporting this group.
