White City Innovation District
White City’s Innovation District is a growing hub for life sciences, and a hotbed of disruptive and ambitious engineering, involving the world-leading Imperial College London, tech and science startups.
This time round, we’re delighted to be partnering with Scale Space White City who will be hosting the event at their fabulous new space. Scale Space is a new scale-up community, located on Imperial College London’s ground-breaking White City Campus.
The Deep Tech Network Speakers
We have an incredible line-up of talks including:
Dr Francesco A. Aprile, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Department of Chemistry at Imperial College London – The Aprile Lab’s research focuses on the development of biomolecules (molecules that are produced by living organisms) as research tools to understand disease mechanisms and for clinical applications. In particular, they are investigating proteins and antibodies that can help them to understand why proteins aggregate in the brain and lead to many forms of dementia.
Nicolas Mose, Co-Founder and COO at ProtonDx – Spun out of Imperial College London in March 2020, ProtonDx is revolutionising the world of diagnostic tests. They have developed a microchip based rapid diagnostic technology for infectious diseases. The device can also tag results and upload them to a cloud-based system to monitor disease progression and track outbreaks. They have recently adapted the technology to test for COVID-19 which provides quantitative results to a smartphone app in under 20 minutes.
Thomas Antalffy, Founder and CEO at Smart Respiratory Products Ltd – A digital healthcare company based in Imperial White City Incubator. Smart Respiratory’s Smart Peak Flow meter turns a smartphone into a handy personal asthma assistant. By properly tracking an asthmatic’s breathing, it can warn its user of an impending attack.
