Pointwise Ergodic Theorems for Non-Conventional Polynomial Averages
Abstract
In this talk I will discuss the pointwise convergence of ergodic averages, from Birkhoff’s theorem, through the work of Bourgain, to recent work of myself, M. Mirek (Ruters), and T. Tao (UCLA).
