While we’re excited to be inviting alumni back to South Kensington for Great Exhibition Road Festival and Alumni Weekend, our fantastic alumni groups around the world are also getting involved by holding a Global Celebration event in their own cities, alongside the main event in London.
Join the Global Celebration in Taipei and meet fellow alumni for a journey of cultural discovery and fun.
The Imperial College Alumni Association in Taiwan is organising a tour at Dadaocheng (大稻埕), a fascinating neighborhood in Taipei to experience how Taipei Old Town meets modern innovation. It is the first urban area to develop in Taipei and still is the culturally significant place for locals to upkeep with the tradition.
Among many commodities, tea and textiles are two valuable trade goods exported from Dadaocheng. Even today, this neighbourhood is full of traditional tea houses.
The tour offers a valuable chance to experience the authentic tea culture in a fine teahouse where the traditional tea processing and brewing are still well preserved.
