Professor José R Penadés, Director of the Medical Research Council Centre for Molecular Bacteriology and Infection, will discuss his work on understanding molecular mechanisms’ underlying bacterial infection and immunity and to translate this information into new strategies for preventing and treating disease.

Dr Luke Moore, Infectious Diseases Physician and Clinical Microbiologist at Chelsea and Westminster NHS Foundation Trust and Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at Imperial College London, will discuss his work on monitoring and reducing antimicrobial resistance in the clinic.
