About this event

The Czech alumni network invites fellow alumni to join them in Prague for a conversation with Mark Baker – a long-term journalist, blogger and travel writer who will talk about his experience of life in Central Europe in the eighties and afterwards.

Mark Baker lives in Prague and has worked for companies like The Economist, Bloomberg and Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty and currently writes books and travel features for Lonely Planet and National Geographic. He’s the author of “Čas Proměn” (Time of Changes), a personal, non-fiction account of political developments in Central & Eastern Europe in the run-up to the 1989 revolutions and in the years immediately after. The book was published in Czech by Albatros Media in 2021. He has offered to autograph copies of his latest book at the event.

The event will take place at the Globe Bookstore and Café.

The event is being organised by Michael Wrigley (PhD Nuclear Engineering 1974).

The meeting will be in either Czech or English as appropriate at the time.
