holding a child's hands

Children’s palliative care providers are constantly innovating to deliver the best possible care within limited resources, but rarely are these innovations recognised, supported, or scaled. Drawing on interviews with over 50 children’s palliative care leaders across 27 countries, the latest study by Imperial College London’s Institute of Global Health Innovation sets out a blueprint of current and future innovations in the delivery of care to children with life limiting conditions.

Outlining nine key areas of opportunity for innovation, this launch event will present the report’s key messages, and invite participants and a panel of experts to share their own views on how innovation can bridge the enormous gap in need across high, middle and low income countries alike: currently more than 90% of the estimated eight million children in need of children’s palliative care worldwide do not receive it. The vision described is optimistic and ambitious, and the event will conclude with an invitation for those in the sector to participate in a new initiative to spark, scale and share innovations in children’s palliative care globally.
