The first Women in STEM seminar of 2023 will be themed around conservation. We will kick off the event by showing a special message from Dr Jane Goodall about her incredible work and experience as a woman in STEM. Following that, our inspiring panellists will discuss their careers in conservation, the challenges they have faced being an underrepresented gender in STEM, and future trends and opportunities in the field. The panel discussion will be followed by a Q&A with the audience. Our panellists will include:

  • Dr Bonnie Waring (Chair) – Senior Lecturer, Grantham Institute
  • Patricia Zurita – CEO of BirdLife International, the world’s largest nature conservation partnership of civil society organisations
  • Professor Heather Koldewey – Bertarelli Foundation’s Marine Science Programme Lead , Founder of Project Seahorse
  • Dr Caroline Howe – Senior Lecturer, Centre for Environmental Policy

We hope you are able to join us in-person or online for this fascinating event! The seminar will be followed by refreshments and the opportunity to chat with our speakers.
